300 people have their say on future Salisbury play park
Designs will now be drawn up for the Ashley Road equipment
Hundreds of people have put forward their views on the future of a Salisbury play park - which has been demolished as part of the Salisbury River Park project.
The children's equipment at Ashley Road has been removed in recent weeks, while construction work is carried out along the riverbank.
It's being relocated into the middle of the green there, once the River Park work in the area is completed.
Wiltshire Council tell us 300 people took part in a consultation, focussed on what equipment it should include for little ones, what should be part of a new multi-use games area, and which pieces of outdoor gym kit would be most popular, mainly for adults.
All the comments made will be taken into consideration, with the finalised plans for the play area being revealed in the autumn.
Ashley Road and Fisherton Recreation Ground are the end point for the Salisbury River Park project.
That aims to reduce flood risks for the city centre, improve wildlife corridors and biodiversity along the River Avon and make it easier for to use and enjoy the waterways running through the area.
The first phase of the project isn't expected to be completed until 2024.
